Within the Immediate vicinity there are ample walking tracks and normally much native flora and fauna can be sighted .


Climate
The climate at Merna Mora varies from hot and mostly dry summers to warm sunny days and cool crisp nights in winter. Rainfall is intermittent and general rains usually fall in the May to August period with some thunderstorms experienced in summer. The average annual rainfall is about 7 inches or 175mm.

Brachina Gorge
Just half an hour drive and you can discover one of the most photographed areas of the Flinders Ranges, renowned for it's fossil formations and various geological periods.

Bridle Gap
Bridle Gap pass located just 15km from Merna Mora forms part of the Heysen Trail and links the Moralana Gorge with Wilpena Pound.

Moralana Scenic Drive

Connecting the Wilpena and Leigh Creek roads. You will see stunning scenery featuring the southern wall of Wilpena pound, Black's Gap, Red range, Elder Range: a photographer's paradise.

Blinman Historic Mines
Recently restored and opened for the public these mines are an important part of the European heritage of the Flinders Ranges.
